Review
The “Lomography Color Negative 35mm ISO 100” is a color negative film with an ISO speed of 100 that is produced in Japan. It is readily available through Lomography’s direct sales channels and major camera stores in Japan. It supports the common C-41 development process, so you won’t be refused processing.
When scanned using the MINOLTA DiMAGE SCAN PRO’s default settings, the resulting images have clear colors and an appealing appearance. Since the film allows for adjustments to the scan results, you can customize the image with the right tools.
The resolution and grain of the “Color Negative 35mm ISO 100” and “FUJICOLOR 100” films appear almost identical. The following cropped sections of images were scanned with the DiMAGE SCAN PRO at 100% magnification; however, the lighting conditions during shooting differed.
This film exhibits a strange phenomenon. Scanned images saved as DNG files using VueScan have an incorrect white balance. This issue occurs with all three rolls of film. However, there are no such problems when saving as JPEG. Therefore, it is highly likely that the DNG saving function of the version of VueScan being used is faulty. The incorrect white balance in these images can be corrected using image editing software.
One concern when using film is the price. As of 2026, “Color Negative 35mm ISO 100” sells for around 6,000 yen for three rolls, both online and in stores. That works out to about 2,000 yen per roll. This price is almost the same as Fujifilm’s “FUJICOLOR 100.”
Since the prices are similar, the key differences when choosing between the two can be summarized as follows: “Color Negative 35mm ISO 100” offers distinctive color reproduction, while “FUJICOLOR 100” offers stable image quality.
Finally, please note that the only film model number printed on the top and bottom of the roll is “100-2.”
