  • Camera System 1: HEXAR-RF LIMITED + CONTAX G BIOGON 28mm (M-mount modified)
  • Camera System 2: RICOH GR21 (Compact film camera)

The example images in the gallery were taken with a Ricoh GR21 and a Hexar RF Limited camera with a modified Contax G-mount Biogon 28mm lens for M-mount.

Both cameras work well with this film. As long as you don’t underexpose too much, the grain is comparable to that of ISO 100 film, which makes them easy to use.

The following cropped images are not an exact comparison because different lenses were used depending on the shooting conditions and film. Please view them as examples only.

Review

The Fujifilm 200 is an ISO 200 color negative film that is sold outside of Japan. Although it is not officially supplied to the Japanese market, it can be purchased through importers on Amazon and Rakuten. According to Fujifilm’s overseas websites, such as Fujifilm USA, Fujifilm 200 is available in certain regions, including the United States.

When scanned with default settings, the color reproduction of Fujifilm 200 is rather subdued and understated. If you’re doing digital post-processing, there’s a reasonable range of adjustment possible with correct exposure, so it shouldn’t be a problem unless the exposure is completely blown out.

The following are 1:1 crops of images scanned with DiMAGE Scan Pro and taken during the daytime using ISO 200 “FUJIFILM 200” and ISO 400 “FUJIFILM SUPERIA X-TRA 400.” Based on the scan results, there doesn’t appear to be a significant difference between the two films.

However, please note that this is not an accurate comparison due to differences in shooting conditions, the lenses used for each film, and the effects of image compression. We hope you will view this as an example.

Comparing the datasheets provided by FUJIFILM, in every scene, the ISO 400 “FUJIFILM SUPERIA X-TRA 400” is set to be one stop brighter when the shutter speed (SS) is set to 1/250 second. In addition, new indoor and night scene settings have been added for films brighter than ISO 200.

As of 2026, a three-pack costs around 6,000 yen, while a single bottle costs around 3,000 yen. Considering import costs, it’s unlikely that importers are making a significant profit, as a 3-pack costs about $25 on Amazon USA.
