SIGMA
There was a line at the booth since Thursday due to admission restrictions. I was interested in the SIGMA BF and 300-600mm F4, but I passed because waiting in line was too much of a hassle. As I was wandering around the photo book corner next to the booth, I noticed a foreign gentleman sitting on a chair in the mini lecture hall who owned a SIGMA BF, so I asked if I could take a photo of him.
The lens attached was a 35mm F2 silver. I wish I could have taken a photo while I was there.

COSINA
There were seven new products and concept exhibits from Zeiss and Voigtlander, and visitors were able to try out existing lenses, including E-Mount, Micro Four Thirds Mount, and Z Mount, in a hands-on session.
- Otus ML 1.4/50 E-Mount
- Otus ML 1.4/85 E-Mount
- PORTRAIT HELIAR 1.8/75 E-Mount
- APO LANTHAR 28mm F2 Aspherical VM-Mount
- NOKTON 35mm F1.2 Aspherical IV VM-Mount
- NOKTON 40mm F1.2 Aspherical II VM-Mount
- NOKTON 50mm F1.2 Aspherical II VM-Mount

SONY
They had the largest exhibition space alongside Canon.
They were promoting motion photography, and had a variety of booths set up for sports, studio photography, and models and athletes.
Their new products were the FE 400-800mm F6.3-8 G OSS and the 16mm F1.8G

TAMRON
Tamron’s booth puts on a fun display every year, and this year it featured Godzilla, with Godzilla and Mechagodzilla displayed in a townscape diorama.
There was also a corner for inspecting and cleaning their own lenses, but I guess they didn’t look at the Adaptall-2 lenses.

NIKON
I haven’t followed Nikon since it became the Z brand.
In the past, when it came to cameras, it was Nikon or Canon, but for a long time now they have been lagging behind Sony and Canon.
They are trying to make a comeback in the digital age by purchasing the RED for video, but I wonder how it will turn out?
Speaking of new products, the P1100, the latest model in the COOLPIX P series, which continues to have an ever-increasing focal length, was on display.

TOKINA
The AT-X 270 AF PRO, AF193, and AT-X 828 were on display as three lenses that have enhanced the company’s reputation. There wasn’t much to see among the new products. The AT-X 270 AF PRO was a large-aperture standard zoom lens, and was superior in design to rivals TAMRON and SIGMA.
Tokina’s current lenses are not particularly cutting-edge in terms of performance, and the lens barrel design is a bit subdued, making them seem lost in the crowd.

CANON
They had a large-scale exhibit, competing with Sony.
I have no interest in 3D because it gives me motion sickness, but Canon was pushing 3D.
Perhaps because they couldn’t afford to fall behind Sony in motion capture, they set up a basketball court and had athletes and cheerleaders demonstrate motion capture.
I’m sure they were looking for their new product, the Powesthot V1, but I missed it.

FUJIFILM
With brand power close to that of Leica, it seems as though they have established their own unique line.
Because they are doing a good job of controlling the supply of their existing products, they didn’t bother to introduce any new products at CP+, and instead just had a very plain exhibition. There was a FinePix F810 in the retrospective corner.

Panasonic
The new product, the LUMIX S1RII, was on display, but the overall feeling was stagnant.
There was a crowd at the talk corner, so I wondered why the product wasn’t selling so well.

OM Digital Solutions
The new OM-3 was on display, but as a camera it exuded a feeling of lack of originality and a bit of a cheap feel.

etc
Ricoh and Pentax were not participating this year either, and Hasselblad had a booth opposite Sigma along with DJI. I was distracted by Sigma so didn’t go to check it out.
Chinese manufacturers were doing well this year as well, with many lenses on display, but it seemed like there were fewer eccentric items.
Toyo Living exhibited a humidity-controlled cabinet for guitars and violins. It’s priced at 170,000 yen on Amazon Japan.
