Overview

  • Exhibition Title: 30th Anniversary Exhibition “ALL OF EVANGELION”
  • Dates: November 14, 2025 (Fri) – January 12, 2026 (Mon)
  • Location: Tokyo City View (52nd floor, Roppongi Hills Mori Tower)

the “30th Anniversary Exhibition ALL OF EVANGELION” is required to enter the main exhibition area and merchandise sales.
However, the exhibition ticket is the same price as a Tokyo City View admission ticket, and while it would seem reasonable to sell tickets for Tokyo City View alone, this is not the case. The reason for this is unclear.

General ticket prices are 2,200 yen cheaper if purchased online, and 2,400 yen at the venue. This price includes the admission price to Tokyo City View. For other discounts, please refer to the official website.

A Tokyo City View admission ticket grants you access to the Unit-01 object located immediately inside the exhibition hall, as well as the storyboards displayed up to the entrance to the “30th Anniversary Exhibition ALL OF EVANGELION.”

To enjoy all the content of the “ALL OF EVANGELION” 30th Anniversary Exhibition, you’ll need to scan the QR code on your ticket at four locations: the 3rd floor entrance, the Tokyo City View entrance, the main exhibition entrance, and the merchandise entrance. It’s a good idea to have your paper ticket on hand and have your smartphone ticket displayed on your smartphone beforehand to ensure smooth entry.

Photography at this exhibition is limited to smartphones in the storyboard area leading up to the paid exhibition entrance and within the main exhibition room. Photography is prohibited in the merchandise entrance. There are no restrictions on photography equipment within Tokyo City View, including of Eva Unit-01.

Review “Memories of my youth”

The highlight of this exhibition is the model of Eva Unit-01 near the entrance. It’s no exaggeration to say that I visited the exhibition just to see it. The lighting changes and the atmosphere transforms as the evening approaches, so if you visit between 4pm and 6pm you can enjoy the fusion of the changing lighting and the scenery below.

If you’re not looking at the city view exhibits, you can sit in chairs and rest as you walk around.

Main Exhibit

The exhibition room, which requires a ticket to enter, is composed of the following four chapters.

  • Chapter 1: Start-up
  • Chapter 2: Rumbling
  • Chapter 3: Vibrant
  • Chapter 4: Fruition

“Start-up” features cels from 26 TV series.

Particularly memorable is episode 9, “Moment, Heart, Overlap.”

While the analysis and commentary on each episode of the Evangelion TV series has already been thoroughly covered, the story unfolds in a dense 20-minute span, with two characters who misunderstand each other but synchronize for a common goal, which also connects with the giant robot. This part, interspersed with several scenes that lead to future events, was the most exciting and nostalgic for me.

“Rumbling” features audio, with trailers for all 26 episodes of the TV series playing endlessly on the screen. Kotono Mitsuishi’s “Service, service” can be heard repeatedly. Filming of the video is prohibited.

“Vibrant” displays storyboards from the new theatrical releases “Jo,” “Ha,” and “Q.”

“Fruition” is located in the corner dedicated to “Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time,” the final installment of the new film series, and features a 3D hologram signage displaying the AAA Wunder. Photography is prohibited here.

You can also see materials from the new film series, such as an installation made from storyboards (see photo below), and image boards.

A side note

EVANGELION first aired on television in 1995, and 2025 will mark its 30th anniversary. I moved to Tokyo in 1993 and was able to watch TV Tokyo, and I remember watching it religiously late at night after work. As you know, I started to feel uneasy about the series from episodes 25 or 26 onwards, so I bought the first 20 episodes on laser disc, but eventually stopped buying them. I then went to see the film, “Air/The End of Evangelion,” but was disappointed and drifted away from the EVANGELION series.
I saw the new four-part film series on Amazon Prime rather than at the cinema, so I can feel the passage of time in the changing viewing environment.
