To use the Hasselblad HC 100mm F2.2 (hereinafter referred to as HC100) with the LEICA S Typ007 (including S2, S-E, S typ006, S3), you need to use the LEICA S adapter H released by Leica, and use the following configuration:
LEICA S +LEICA S adapter H +HC100
With the above combination, you can shoot with the LEICA S using autofocus (hereinafter referred to as AF).
The combination of the LEICA S Typ007 and HC100 has a reasonable focus speed, but the focus accuracy is not very good, so I attached a microprism screen: 16001 to the camera and shot with manual focus. With the 45mm x 30mm medium format digital sensor used by the LEICA S, multiplying it by the 35mm conversion factor of 0.8 makes it a medium telephoto lens with a focal length equivalent to 80mm.
It is no exaggeration to say that I bought a LEICA S body because I wanted to use this lens, and I used almost exclusively this lens on the first S body I bought, the LEICA S-E.
The clear view through the viewfinder of an SLR is the best thing about an SLR body and a large aperture lens. Also, the smooth depiction of the old Planar lens, which is a straightforward large aperture, is also appealing.
However, due to the old design, there are some difficulties with close-up photography, and although it does not meet the 10x rule, the minimum shooting distance for the lens alone is 0.9m, and when used with the LEICA S series, the extension tube for close-up photography cannot be used, so the problem of the minimum shooting distance cannot be avoided.
For this reason and because I now own the Summicron-S 100mm, which is a genuine Leica S lens with the same focal length, I do not use the HC100 very often at present. The strength of the Summicron-S 100mm is that it has a minimum shooting distance of 0.7m, which is 0.2m closer than the HC100.
The Contax 645 does not have a focal length of 100mm, but in terms of large aperture the Planar 80mm F2 is close, but I do not own this lens so I cannot compare it.
