My impression: “A season overflowing with flowers”

The Garden Necklace Yokohama 2026 “Yokohama Rose Week” has begun, so I went to Harbor View Park and America Hill Park around 7:30 in the morning to see the seasonal flowers, including roses.

America-yama Park is directly connected to Motomachi-Chukagai Station on the Yokohama Minatomirai Line. Exit the station through the entrance opposite Chinatown and take the elevator to the rooftop to reach the park.

Harbor View Park is about a 10-minute walk away, and nearby attractions include the Iwasaki Museum (Goethe Theater Memorial), the Yokohama British House, the Yamate 111 House, the Osaragi Jiro Memorial Museum, and the Kanagawa Museum of Modern Literature.

Additionally, walking from Harbor View Park toward the Red Brick Warehouse will lead you to Yamashita Park.

Summary

The Garden Necklace Yokohama 2026 “Yokohama Rose Week” was just beginning, and the flowers were more meticulously cared for than usual, allowing visitors to enjoy the beautiful blossoms and summer insects.

This event is likely intended to promote “GREEN×EXPO 2027” (the 2027 International Horticultural Exposition), which the city of Yokohama, which is not particularly adept at hosting events, will be holding in 2027. The venue for the International Horticultural Exposition is the rather inconvenient location of the former Kamiseya Communications Facility in Yokohama City, but it will be very interesting to see if it generates the same level of enthusiasm as the Osaka Expo.
