LOMO (Lomography) commissioned Russia’s ZENIT to reprint a famous lens from yesteryear.
Lens specs are the same as the previous version.

RUSSAR, other than the LOMO brand, on the market comes in black and silver colors, but many of them have noticeable wear and tear due to aging. This lens appears to have had its barrel remade, and is beautiful with a shiny silver color.
The lens has an old design and is dark starting at F5.6, and the filter diameter is 49mm.I would like to attach it to protect the impressive convex front lens, but it also has the disadvantage of not being able to move the aperture if attached. I use it as a fixed F value lens.

The shortest shooting distance is 0.5m, which is the same as the previous version, which is a shame. Being able to get as close as 0.3m would be more satisfying, but with a mirrorless camera, this could be avoided with a helicoid mount adapter. .

The beauty of this lens is that the symmetrical lens construction means that there is little distortion in the depiction. When shooting with a digital camera, depending on the sensor installed in the camera, a large color cast may occur, similar to the HOLOGON 16mm, Super Angulon M 21mm, and BIogon-G 21mm.
The color cast is especially noticeable in blue skies and dimly lit scenes. If you convert to monochrome, it will no longer be noticeable, so when shooting with such a camera, it is assumed that it will be processed in monochrome later.

当然だが、センサーサイズが小さいM4/3（マイクロフォーサーズ）、APS-Cセンサーで使用すると、カラーキャストの問題は気にならなくなる。レンズがコンパクトなので、小さなカメラボディに装着すると、古いコンパクトカメラのような外観になり、スナップカメラとしてとても良い。

センサーサイズの大きなHASSELBLAD X2Dは、HOLOGON 16mm同様にイメージサークルは足りていないけれど、カラーキャストをおこさない。これは新しいセンサーのおかげと思われる。レンズの使用頻度が上がるうれしい出来事である。
20mmの広角と最大絞りF5.6であるため、ほぼパンフォーカスレンズとなるが、EVFで拡大表示をしてもピント位置を明確に判断し辛いのは困るところである。
