LEICA S with HC100mm
Review of HASSELBLAD HC100mm (orange dot) with Leica S typ007
It is no exaggeration to say that I purchased the LEICA S in order to use this lens.
I used this lens almost exclusively on the LEICA S-E, which I used for about three days.
I think the clear field of view seen through the bare SLR lens is the best part of this lens.
It has an appealing, habit-free image rendering that is a straightforward enlargement of the old Planar lens.
Because of its old design, it has a slight weakness in close-up photography.
Currently, this lens is used less frequently with the LEICA S typ007 because I often use the CONTAX 645 lens and I have purchased the SUMMICRON-S 100mm, so the HC100, used via the S adapter H adapter, is a native S mount lens The HC100 used via the S adapter H adapter is inferior to the SUMMICRON-S100 in AF speed, accuracy, and minimum focusing distance, so the SUMMICRON-S is often used with LEICA S lenses.
In addition, since X2D can be used as two lenses, 100/F2.2 and 80/1.8, X2D is still the main lens to be used with this lens.
I purchased a Microprism Focusing Screen S, which is extremely useful for focusing medium telephoto lenses, and I am planning to use it again because it makes MF easier with the HC100, which has trouble focusing at close range.
