PERAR 21mm F4.5 Photo example (with Leica M8)
Impression
Like the other lenses in the PERAR series, it is a very thin lens and fits well on small cameras such as the LUMIX GM5.
Like the other triplet lenses, the 21mm lens has a good exposure, but like the New Russar+, Super Angulon, and Contax-G-Biogon lenses, it produces a color cast on the periphery of the image on full-size cameras, so it should be used on cameras with smaller sensors such as the Leica M8 It is better to use it with cameras with smaller sensor size such as Leica M8, APS-C, M4/3, and so on.
The minimum focusing distance is 0.5m (closer than 0.8m is not linked to the camera’s rangefinder), which allows for closer shooting when using the EVF.
The 21mm/F4 class lenses with the specifications of this lens are close to the 21mm-P type of FOCTLENDER and the Russian RUSAR, both of which are compact enough, but the PERAR is smaller than them, as you can see from the comparison chart.
Although it is a compact lens, there are no operability problems. Focusing can be done smoothly by sliding the focusing lever at the bottom of the lens barrel. The aperture is located at the front of the lens barrel and can be changed by turning the hood attached to it.
There is no click stop on the aperture, so the exact aperture value must be checked visually.
When used with non-full-size sensor cameras, the Leica M8 is cropped to the equivalent of 28mm on the APS-H, 31.5mm on the APS-C, and 42mm on the Micro Four Thirds.

Specification
This wide-angle lens from MS-Optics (Miyazaki Kogaku) uses a triplet lens format.
The 24mm and 21mm lenses are very thin, with a thickness of only 5mm.
